Mental Health Awareness Month.

As you all know I am big on mental health and this month is mental health awareness month. Mental health is something that I take very seriously, I’ve been through some dark times where my mental health was affected the most. As we know mental health doesn’t always have a look someone could be going through things that they don’t speak of.

I am not a listened therapist, or a spiritual teacher but I do believe majority of our mental health is linked to spiritual warfare, as we know there are so many things that we cannot see, daily spiritual battles are being fought against us, especially as God’s children. As I started becoming more spiritual in my journey of healing, I noticed alo’t of my depression and anxiety came from me being more in tuned with myself spiritually, mentally and physically. And just over all trying to better myself. Sounds crazy, but if you know you know.

What’s important to always remember is that during the time of our spirtual warfare battles, we are always being protected and watched over. God has given us tools in the bible on how we should prepare on our spirtual warfare battles. What has helped me throughout the years of dealing with mental health is seeing a therapist, also praying when I feel overwhelmed.

Finding the right therapist will be great for you. I know therapy can be expensive, so below I am going to leave self-help tips on how you can help yourself through your mental health struggles.

I want you all to know that you are not alone in your mental health struggle, whether you feel alone, depressed, lost, unseen, or unheard. You may have just lost someone, but you aren’t alone in this battle. I do hope that things will get better. I want you to keep in mind that taking care of your mental health is so important. Please do not neglect yourself; this will cause you to feel worse.

  • Get regular exercise. Just 30 minutes of walking every day can help boost your mood and improve your health. Small amounts of exercise add up, so don’t be discouraged if you can’t do 30 minutes at one time.

  • Eat healthy. Regular meals and stay hydrated. A balanced diet and plenty of water can improve your energy and focus throughout the day. Also, limit caffeinated beverages such as soft drinks or coffee.

  • Practice gratitude. Remind yourself daily of things you are grateful for. Be specific. Write them down at night or replay them in your mind.

  • Focus on positivity. Identify and challenge your negative and unhelpful thoughts.

  • Stay connected. Reach out to your friends or family members who can provide emotional support and practical help.

  • Spiritual Warfare Battles - I encourage you to always to pray! This is something that I still am working on, but a simple prayer can help you through your day, make sure when you are facing spiritual warfare battles you put on the full armor of God.

Deuteronomy 28:7- The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way and flee before thee seven ways.

Ephesians 6: 11-13 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
